The Spy and the President
Published by Diogenes as Die Nacht der Macht
Original Title: La spia e il presidente
New York, August 2001. The oligarch Borowski is worried: his clairvoyant has left him shortly before an attack on the Russian president is due to take place. As long as he could rely on her visions he felt safe. Now he is plagued by nightmares. What has she seen?
One thing is certain: she knows a lot, enough to make her a subject of great interest to agent Ogden. For Ogden has been assigned by the highest authority to protect the Russian president and eliminate his enemies. If it were only Borowski, the task would be quickly done.
But the network against the president stretches across the whole world, from Afghanistan via Chechnya to the USA. Preparations for the coup d'état are being made in Europe too, and Mafia boss Kachalow is ready to strike. A pity that Borowski has become so unpredictable. His nervousness imperils the whole operation. Kachalow summons him to Paris, but the situation is already out of hand…
Liaty Pisani is not afraid of calling a spade a spade when dealing with the problems of the new millennium: striving for power, terror and hatred.
